My name is Eri and I am from Tokyo, Japan.
I live in the Czech Republic with my daughter and Czech husband.
Even though I studied the Czech language for years,
when I tried to speak with local people at the playground or preschool...
they didn’t understand me.
That was really heartbreaking.
I started to believe,
“Maybe only Czech language teachers who are used to foreigners can understand me...”
And little by little, I lost my confidence.
But now I know—
Language is not just about grammar.
It’s about being brave enough to connect.
So I started this page for people like me;
🌸who are learning Japanese but feel scared to speak
🌸who are afraid of making mistakes
🌸who want to feel understood

About Me
Eri Tetur
Graduated from the University of York (UK) in 2006 with a degree in Educational Studies.
After graduation, worked for two years at a logistics company in Tokyo.
Subsequently spent nearly ten years at an educational institution in Japan, supporting Japanese students with study abroad programs and teaching English.
Since 2017, based in the Czech Republic, providing academic and daily life support for Japanese students, as well as Japanese language instruction for international learners.
